SPARK Schools Witpoortjie
Education Precinct
Project Overview
Adaptive Reuse Education Campus | 1,780m²
SPARK Schools Witpoortjie involved the adaptive reuse of an existing strip mall to establish a new private primary school within a growing residential community.
The project required careful coordination between commercial functions already operating within the precinct and the introduction of a cost-conscious education facility. The design approach focused on maximising the potential of the existing structure, allowing the project to accelerate delivery while maintaining strict budget control.
By integrating new classroom environments within the existing building framework, the project was able to respond rapidly to the growing demand for schooling infrastructure in the area.

Integrated Focus
• Adaptive reuse of existing retail structure
• Cost-conscious education facility planning
• Structural integration within existing building framework
• Multidisciplinary consultant coordination
NEXT Group joined the project after initial consultant involvement to stabilise the development strategy and unlock the potential of the aging structure. Through integrated built-environment expertise, the team successfully repositioned the property to support its new educational function while addressing broader community concerns around the deteriorating site.
