Melrose Estate is a contemporary office development designed for a financial institution within the established Melrose and Rosebank commercial corridor.
The project involved the demolition of an existing structure to make way for a new purpose-built office environment. The architectural concept sought to introduce a distinctive design language while remaining sensitive to the surrounding urban context and heritage character of the area.
A corten steel façade was incorporated as a defining material strategy, allowing the building to develop a natural patina over time. This approach references the ageing character of nearby heritage structures while conveying permanence and stability appropriate to a financial institution.
